The Corporate Citizen Award recognizes the corporate responsibility efforts of corporations. It is awarded annually to companies that demonstrate outstanding leadership through sustainable practices and responsible corporate citizenship. Corporations should possess the following leadership qualities:
- A track record of sound policies and practices that support positive environmental, employee, economic, community and social impact.
- A demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and value multiple "bottom lines."
- A demonstrated growing commitment to using the power of corporate decision making as a tool for sustainability and corporate citizenship.
Earning this award is evidence of a corporation's level of commitment to effectively valuing and harnessing the power of corporations as agents of community, environmental and global good.
Award Criteria
Those submitting a nomination are asked to provide the information requested below.
Provide a 2-4 page maximum narrative capturing why your corporation deserves this award. Describe in the narrative the good corporate activities and the impact your corporation has had in the following areas of focus:
- Community Outreach and Involvement
- Environmental and Green Leadership
- Employee Relations: Best Places to Work
- Philanthropy
- Human Rights
You can also include supplemental materials such as awards received, brochures, newspaper clippings, photographs, etc from events/programs.
